Diversity is a buzzword, no doubt about it. Some companies even have diversity managers to ensure their workforce is as diverse as our world. I don’t want to write about whether it’s a good thing to have those managers in a company, still, I keep wondering whether we need roles like this in the workplace, and whether daily life is influenced by this development at all.

Recently I wrote on twitter that diversity is an asset, not a liability. I can only repeat this over and over again.

We’re all different, and „being normal“ is just a snapshot of one moment in time.

We’re all human and shouldn’t judge people by their physical ability or their looks or their communication style or their age or their background.

I want to live in a world where people don’t need to be afraid to say that they have depression, that they’re on the autistic spectrum, that they don’t have a job, that they’re „not normal“. And although I don’t have any new year resolutions, it’s one of my goals to continue working towards this kind of world I want to live in.
